Palworld’s biggest post-launch update yet arrived on September 7, and it isn’t a numbers patch. Version 1.0.4 adds a chained pair of sub-missions, Beyond Dimensions and From the Far Side of the Moon, that funnel players into a full crossover with Terraria, culminating in a fight against Terraria’s Moon Lord. It’s the first 1.0-era patch to add genuinely new content rather than just rebalancing what already existed.
For most of the Palworld audience, that’s the whole story: a new high-level questline, a boss fight, and a batch of Terraria-themed items to chase. But for anyone tracking the card game alongside the video game, it raises a more specific question. Palworld’s TCG has leaned heavily on the source material since launch, six weeks ago, right down to card art lifted from specific in-game Pals. When the game adds a headline crossover this size, does that eventually show up on cardboard?
Right now, the honest answer is: there’s no official link, and nothing suggests one is imminent. Bushiroad’s own announced release calendar is already booked solid through early 2027 – a Sleeve and Card Set on October 2, the all-new Legends Awaken booster set on October 30, the Dawn of Palpagos Second Edition reprint the same month, two more trial decks in December, and a fourth booster set in January. There’s no mention of Terraria, the Moon Lord, or any crossover content anywhere in that lineup, and the official card list has no cards referencing it.
That’s not surprising. A trading card set typically locks its card pool months before release, and Legends Awaken was almost certainly finalized long before 1.0.4 shipped. If a Terraria-themed card or product ever happens, the earliest realistic window is whatever set comes after the January 2027 booster, and that assumes Bushiroad decides a single-game software crossover is worth a physical card treatment at all, which isn’t something every TCG publisher does.
What’s actually worth watching is the pattern, not this specific update. Palworld the game is shipping substantial content patches roughly every one to two months, each with its own news cycle and search interest. Palworld the card game is on a slower, quarterly cadence set months in advance. Every time those two release schedules diverge like this, it’s a reminder that the game and the card game are, for now, two separate products moving at two separate speeds, connected by licensing rather than by a shared content pipeline.
PalCollector will note it here if that ever changes. Until then, the practical takeaway for collectors is simpler: nothing about 1.0.4 affects the value or scarcity of any card currently in circulation, and nothing in Bushiroad’s confirmed roadmap points to a Terraria tie-in card arriving before 2027 at the earliest.
